US Pledges a Significant Aid Contribution, Issuing a Direct Message to the UN.
In a move that combines generosity with a firm ultimatum, the United States has committed $2 billion for UN emergency relief operations. Yet, this aid was accompanied by a direct admonition for the global organization: it must "adapt or die."
